Selling across several channels usually means each platform keeps its own stock count. A sale in your physical shop or on another marketplace doesn't reduce stock in WooCommerce, which leads to overselling, cancelled orders, and hours of manual spreadsheet updates. SyncPenguin connects your WooCommerce store to your other channels and shares stock changes between them, so every channel always shows the right quantity.

How does it work?

The WooCommerce Inventory Quantities connector keeps the stock levels in your WooCommerce store in sync with your other sales channels. SyncPenguin matches products by SKU, including individual product variations. It tracks every stock change and applies it to your connected stores, POS systems, or accounting tools. You can sell on WooCommerce, Shopify, Square, and more without overselling or updating inventory by hand.

Popular real-world use cases

  • Keep stock levels in sync between your WooCommerce online store and the Square POS in your brick-and-mortar shop. In-store sales automatically reduce online stock, and online sales reduce in-store stock.
  • Run a WooCommerce store and a Shopify store side by side with shared inventory, so a sale on either store updates stock on both.
  • Sync inventory between two or more WooCommerce stores, such as a retail and a wholesale site or stores for different regions, that sell from the same warehouse.
  • Connect WooCommerce with your Squarespace store so products listed on both sites always show accurate availability.
  • Keep WooCommerce and BigCommerce inventory aligned while you run both platforms or gradually move from one to the other.
  • Keep stock quantities consistent between your WooCommerce store and Xero inventory, so your accounting records match what is actually available to sell.
  • Sell at markets, fairs, and pop-up events with Zettle, and have every sale automatically reflected in your WooCommerce stock.
  • Build a multi-channel setup where WooCommerce, Shopify, and Square all share one consistent inventory, with stock changes from any channel applied everywhere.
  • Share only a selected group of SKUs, such as consignment or limited-edition items, between WooCommerce and Shopify, while the rest of each catalog stays independent.

Key features

SKU Matching

Products are matched by SKU across platforms, so the right item is always updated, even when product names differ between channels.

Variation Support

Stock is synced for simple products and for each variation of variable products, such as every size or color.

Smart Adjustments

SyncPenguin syncs stock changes, not just totals, so sales happening at the same time on different channels are counted correctly and nothing gets overwritten.

Near Real-Time

WooCommerce webhooks notify SyncPenguin when products are created or updated, so stock changes reach your other channels within moments.

SKU Filtering

Limit syncing to a specific list of SKUs and keep the rest of your catalog managed separately on each channel.

Affordable & Scalable

With SyncPenguin you only pay for actual changes to your inventory quantities, regardless of how many products you initially have, or will have in the future.

Things to note

  • Only products and variations that have a SKU and have 'Manage stock' enabled in WooCommerce are synced. Enabling stock management on an item makes it available for syncing.
  • Products are matched by SKU, so the same item needs the same SKU on every connected platform.
  • The connector syncs stock quantities only. It does not create or delete products, and it does not sync other product details such as prices, descriptions, or images. Add new products to WooCommerce first, and their stock will sync automatically once the SKUs match.
  • Connecting requires your store URL and a WooCommerce REST API consumer key and secret with read/write access, which you can generate in WooCommerce settings in a couple of minutes.
  • The inventory sync focuses on stock quantities, so field mapping and custom no-code rules don't apply to it. You can still choose which SKUs are synced using the SKU filter.
